Visitors will be able to discover multiple live demonstrations of its capabilities in an Aerospace & Defense ecosystem of software and hardware partners.
Indeed, Qormino will operate in a 100% Aerospace product application environment. Teledyne e2v’s packaged processing solution will be running safety critical real time operating systems (RTOS), modelling & simulations S/W and specific graphic card drivers connected to the product. With Qormino, a smart small and powerful packaged common computer platform, Teledyne e2v has combined NXP QorIQ® processors based on PowerArchitecture® or ARM® with DDR4 memory on custom substrates. This product has been designed to respond to SWaP (Size, Weight and Power) constraints and offers:

Qormino’s major advantage is to be a Hi-Reliability turnkey solution embedding DDR4 technology in an extra small format, removing many burdens on customers (DDR4 link, routing, validation, re-spins, system integration, software support, … ). Teledyne e2v is also capable to supply the part for the next 20 years.
In short, Qormino allows customers to design faster, reduce Time to Market, re-use the platform for much longer, and finally focus on more strategic matters.
Today, Teledyne e2v offers two different configurations within its Qormino product range: QT1040-4GB and QLS1046-4GB. Qormino QT1040-4GB is based on a T1040 quad core power architecture running at 1.4 GHz, while QLS1046-4GB, is based on a LS1046 Quad ARM® Cortex® A72 microprocessor running at 1.8GHz. Both feature the same 4GB DDR4 memory, as well as a 72 bits memory bus out of which 8 bits are dedicated to ECC (Error Correction Code), and a similar product format (44 mm x 26 mm).
Aerospace & Avionics customers can choose which technology core fits best to their constraints. On one hand, QT1040-4GB embeds a PowerArchitecture microprocessor, which is established as a reliable technology for Avionics & Aerospace customers. Thanks to QT1040-4GB our customers can meet the following challenges:
– Certify their system based on a valuable technology.
– Work towards multicores flying in safety critical embedded systems.
– Ensure their systems can fly for the next 15 or 20 years using Teledyne e2v’s reliable components.
On the other hand, QLS1046-4GB embeds an ARM core technology, recognized and approved in many consumer markets, and very promising for Avionics and Aerospace systems. Even if this technology still has challenges to take up in Avionics and Aerospace industries, QLS1046 is an opportunity for customers to start designing their projects using the most up to date technology.
Moreover, Teledyne e2v also offers custom solutions with specific dedicated product configurations embedding other cores from NXP T Series & Layerscape series, and various DDR4 memory configurations. Thanks to its expertise in substrate design, Teledyne e2v can deliver product samples in about 6 months from project kick off.
